Let's Get Started

Nuts and Bolts

Get Noticed

Keep Growing

Let's put our heads together and come up with something wonderful!

I want to get to know you and your business.  As I am a one person shop,  I work one on one with my clients.   I want to know what makes you tick so I can create something wonderful for you.  Knowing your likes, and more importantly your dislikes, makes my job much easier and you much happier.  Communication is critical to the success of what I can create and what you want to achieve!

Who is your target audience?  Who do you think would be interested in what you are presenting?  Is there a certain demographic that you would like to appeal to?  This is important because it will dictate the style and tone of the website.

So, what you do you want to achieve with your website?  Are you planning to sell products or services?  Are you an artist looking to showcase your work?  A non-profit needing donations and exposure?  An organization wanting to share information with its members?  A team looking to highlight its achievements and gain members?  Getting a feel for this information allows me to properly structure your website for you.

Do you currently have a website?  If so, what is your vision of your new website?  What are your competetors doing?  Are there other websites you like?  Are there websites that you do not like?  This is a very illustrative way of sharing your preferences and is very helpful to my in understanding of what you are looking for.

Let's build this thing!

What's in a Name?

If you already have a domain name, terrific!  If you don't, we will come up with one that is easily recognizable and works for your new website. Your domain name is is your address on the internet.  All domain names have extensions, such as .com, .net, .org or .edu, etc.  While .com is the most common, some of the other extensions define the type of organization it represents.  For instance, .org is usually a charitable organization and .edu is usually reserved for colleges and universities.  I can help you search for the perfect available domain name for your entity and secure it for you.

The Building Blocks of Your Wesbite

This is the fun part (for me at least).  Now that we have a domain name, and I know all about your business, what you want to accomplish, and who you want your audience to be, I can start building your website.  I use a wonderful (and very inexpensive) platform to build my sites that offers thousands of options to mix and match.  As with building any structure, you must start with the basics, then add in the extras.  In the case of a website, the structure consists of the "pages," and the "extras" are called widgets.  To learn more about widgets and what they do, visit the World of Widgets! page in this website.

Over the course of building your website, you will have a link that will give you a sneak preview of my progress - feedback is always welcome and appreciated!

Content

This is where we get to partner up.  The first thing I will need from you is a logo if you have one that you like.  No worries if you don't, I design those as well at very reasonable rate - see some examples of my logo designs for yourself.

The next thing I will need are photographs (lot and lots of high quality photos - videos are good too) of you, your products, your people, your location, etc.  Need some help - I have access to thousands of top quality stock photos for a minimal price.

Next you will need to provide me with as much written material you have on your business/entity.  These can be from resumes, marketing matierals, company documents, social media pages, etc.  I can help wordsmith verbiage to read exactly as you'd like.  Have an existing webpage - that can be a tremendous help as well (but DO NOT TAKE IT DOWN until your new one is ready).

How this Works

While I am building your website, I will upload a "Coming Soon" online business card to your website address with your contact information and logo, so that you will have an online presence even before we go live. Once your website is built to your satisfaction: your logo is in place, pictures uploaded, text edited and proofed, widgets doing what widgets do, links working, page layouts perfected, then I will take your website live, where it will be 'hosted' by an online server for a nominal annual or monthly fee.

At this point, I can turn the website reigns over to you directly to maintain and update your website yourself, or you can pay me a small monthly fee to keep it updated or make changes on your behalf.  So far all of my clients have retain my services to maintain their websites for them.  My fee structure is outlined below.

Email and Other Fun Things

Email Accounts - There are two types of email accounts you can have with your website. The first is a mail forwarding account, which an email address using your website name that is forwarded to you regular email account.  For example, I can set up the email address 'john@newwebsite.com' that will automatically forward to John's person/business email - 'johnsmith@gmail.com.'   This type of forwarding email is free. The downside is that you can only receive emails to your website account, not send them.

The second type of email address creates an entire mailbox system that you can send and receive from your website email using the online server's inbox.  It can also be configured to work on your devices as well.
